15 Weeks

I am 15 weeks pregnant today! I am going to use my weight from my appointment on Monday since it was just a few days ago. It was 136! I have gained a total of 3 lbs. so far which is really pretty good for me. I finally feel like I am making progress and getting somewhere with this pregnancy. I know with Christian the second trimester flew by for me. It was the best trimester for me also. It looks like it will be the same with this one. I threw up again on Monday night. Other than that I have been feeling SO much better. I haven't really been craving anything specific just yet. Food is just now starting to be appetizing again. I am really curious to see what it will be with this one. I will say the past couple of weeks when iI wake up in the morning I drink a glass of either chocolate or strawberry milk. It is so good! I did this when I was pregnant with Christian also. The further I got in the pregnancy the more milk I would crave. I have actually been motivated and had the energy to get some much needed housework finished. I am on a mission now to get this house back into shape. I have been making list after list of all kinds of things that I want to do the rest of the summer and into fall. I have been working on planning stuff for our gender reveal party! I am getting really excited for it. I am going to decorate some jars for the half pot and for people to write there favorite name suggestions down. I am also going to have people come wearing a pink shirt if they think it is a girl and a blue shirt if they think it is a boy. I need to get an email sent out so everybody knows all the details. I am not a good email person! This past week I have been contemplating on what to do as far as nursery furniture goes. For Christian we bought a sleigh style cherry finish furniture. I really like the style of it and it goes great for either a boy or a girl. My original plan was to get Christian new furniture and use the same baby furniture for the new baby. One of the big reasons for this was that I wanted all my babies to use the same crib and then I would save it for when I have grand babies to use for them. Christian is pretty attached to his bed now and I am not sure how we are going to get him out of it before the baby comes. We finally have him sleeping in the toddler style part of his bed and things are going better. He still gets up way to early in the mornings and he doesn't take as long of a nap, but he at least isn't crying at night when we lay him down. I am hoping that in another month we will be able to put him in a twin bed or at least get him in the other toddler bed that we bought him. Then we can buy him a tall chest of drawers and a nightstand to go with it like I originally planned. If not it looks like we will be buying new nursery furniture instead! I went through and sorted out all my old maternity clothes and got the ones out that I could wear for summer. I still haven't wore any of them yet, but that time is quickly approaching. I'm sure in a couple more weeks I will have no choice. I am still in that in between stage. I hate looking like I just put on too much weight. I am anxious to get myself in a routine of trying my prenatal yoga DVD out. I haven't gotten around to that yet. I am getting together with Jamie and LeeAnn in a couple of weeks for a project day. I am really looking forward to that! I am going to work on stuff for the gender party. I would love to have a project day once a month to work on stuff if we can work it out with our busy schedules. I am wanting to make some burp cloths by sewing on cute ribbon for decoration and then have them monogrammed. That will have to wait for a while. I am also going to have to look at ordering a stroller and car seat sometime soon also. We sold Christian's in the yard sale. We weren't very happy with the way the car seat buckled. We are going to go with the Chico brand. Alisann has this and she loves it. I am going to go with a black and grey color scheme, so it will go with any gender we have in the future.

15 Week Doctor's Appointment

Today was my 15 week or beginning of second trimester doctor's appointment. I was nervous once again going to the appointment. I went by myself today also. Luckily everything went great! The baby's heartbeat was in the 160's again. I weighed in at 136. I was so happy that I only gained 2 lbs. all together since the last appointment. I think with Christian I had gained 8 lbs. so far and this time I have gained only 3 all together now. My next appointment is on August 19, just like we were hoping for. We will find out what we are having at this appointment. Well, actually we are going to have her put it in an envelope, so we can open it and find out when the rest of our family finds out also. I would like to capture this moment with pictures and video. I'm sure this will all come back to bite me in the butt, like last time. I figured since I really don't care what I'm having we should be okay on me not having an emotional melt down. We are going to have our gender reveal party on August 20. I hope all our family will be able to make it. I am so excited to start planning for it. I LOVE having and planning parties and we don't do near enough of them any more. After my appointment I went shopping and bought some napkins for the party. One package is blue with white polka dots and one package is pink with white polka dots. They are really cute! I am trying to not get too carried away with everything, but I am going with a pink and blue theme on colors and decor. I am hoping I will have time to make a banner for it. I will need Jamie's help and we both are always so busy, especially from now until then. I am hoping we might get a free Sunday to do a project day before then to make it. Summer has flown by and I have hardly gotten to do any of the things I was wanting too. A lot of has had to do with me feeling so sick all the time. I am so glad to be able to say that I think i am getting over it now. The last few days have not been near as bad and I have had a little more energy. I am feeling motivated to get things done now. I still don't have a real big appetite and I haven't started craving one specific thing yet. With Christian I had to eat steak, broccoli and drink milk all the time. Every once in awhile something will sound really good to eat, but nothing like it was with Christian. I still have plenty of time for all that to hit though. I also bought a prenatal yoga DVD to try. It has been so miserably hot that I haven't been able to walk and I figured I could do this in the mornings or during Christian's nap time and I would be able to do it in the winter also. I also bought some new lotion for myself and a candle that smells really good. I figured I needed a few little pampering items for myself. One of my clients on Saturday brought me in a present for the baby. It was three little onesies. One for if it is a girl that says 'Little Sister', one for if it's a boy that says 'Little Brother', and a cute generic one for either one. They were all cute and it was so much fun to get little baby clothes again. It feels like it has been so long since I've had that stuff! I just love it. I can't wait to start shopping for this one. God help me if it is a girl! I went pretty nuts on clothes with Christian and I still do, so if it is a boy I will already have so much from him. That will make it easier to control myself. If it is a girl there will be no holding me back on my shopping sprees.

14 Weeks

I am 14 weeks pregnant today! I weighed in this morning at 138. That is not good I am hoping that my scale is wrong. I go Monday to the doctor, so I will know for sure how bad the weight gain is. I have been eating worse than I ever have in my life. I think Jason and I have set a new record for eating out for us and it hasn't been healthy at all. My sickness hasn't got any better so far. Last Friday I almost passed out at work and then last saturday night I pikes again. I have felt nauseated the rest of the week this week too. I can not wait to start feeling better and to get my energy back. I have so many things I want and need to get done. I was hoping to have them all finished before summer but since I haven't even started on my long list of things to do yet i'm guessing that they will just have to wait until fall now. The heat has been a real killer this summer. I can't ever remember being and feeling this miserable in the summer time. I normally love summer, but this year has been a totally different story. I can not wait for fall and all things that come with it. One good thing I can say is that I am officially in my second trimester now and that feels great to say. I am going to get my maternity clothes out this weekend and organize and see what all I am going to need to still get. I know I am going to get a funny Halloween shirt for sure. I saw one on one website that says ' pumpkin smuggler' that I liked. I'm going to get a Christmas one also. I am definately pouching out now. It's not a ton but I do look kind of chubby. I hate the inbetween stage of pregnancy. I will be setting up my appointment for the ultrasound on monday when I go to the doctor. I am shooting for 4 weeks from today. I will be 18 weeks exactly and then we can have our party the next night to actually find out. I can not wait to see what it is. I am ready to give this baby a name and start on the nursery. Hopefully I start feeling better this week now that I am out of the first trimester and hopefully everything goes good on Monday at the doctor's. I can't help but still get nervous for my appointment.

13 Weeks

I am 13 weeks pregnant today! I weighed in this week at 135, the same as last week. I am so glad this is my last week of my first trimester. I felt a little better yesterday than I had been, but the rest of this past week I felt awful. I am so ready to be over this morning sickness and to have some energy back. I wear out so easily right now. I can barely keep up with Christian and the daily maintenance around the house. The heat outside has been no help on either of these things either. It has only made things worse. I think I am going to keep that in mind the next time I get pregnant. I am at an in between stage on my clothes right now. Most of my regular stuf is getting too tight, but I am not quite ready for maternity clothes yet. I have been wearing looser fitting clothes and that seems to be working for now. I think I will be in my maternity clothes a lot sooner this time. I know with Christian I didn't start showing until I was like 20 or 22 weeks. They say that you do start showing earlier with your second one. I remember waking up one morning, after having a very sleepless night because my stomach hurt, and my stomach had just popped out. I keep waiting for that to happen again. I'm sure it will still be a few weeks yet. My boobs are hurting less and less now also, so that is a relief. I still haven't bought anything for the baby yet. I really haven't had anytime to go shopping. I did order a subscription to Pregnancy & Newborn magazine. I am looking forward to reading this! I love reading and looking through magazines! I never ordered any when I was pregnant with Christian and when I got half way through I wished I would have, but by then it was a little too late I thought. I got Christian his new bedding for his room and I love it! I ordered it from Pottery Barn Kids. I can't wait to get his toddler room finished. i am sticking with the same sailboat theme as before. We are just going to update it some and give it a more kid look. I am hoping to be finished with Christian's room before we find out what we are having. We should find out in about 5 weeks. I am really anxious to find out what we are having I am ready to start calling this baby by a name instead of just 'baby'. We are still stuck on the same names as before. If it is a boy Jackson Kenneth and if it is a girl Charlotte (Charlee) June. Jason and I were talking the other day about how we wanted to do the nursery. If it is a boy I think we are in agreement on doing a vintage airplane theme and if it is a girl we probably aren't going to do a specific theme. I HATE the color pink and all the girl bedding tends to have pink in it. Pottery Barn used to have this girl bedding that was a sky blue and a bright lime green with stripes and polka dots. I loved that bedding, but they discontinued it. I think I am going to try and come up with something similar and go with that on a color scheme. My Mother-in-law is super talented with a sewing machine and a paint brush, so I am hoping that between the two of us we can come up with a non-pink, cute, girly nursery if we have a girl. Jason liked the idea of the blues and greens for a girl room. He of course isn't crazy about pink either. If I do have a girl it will be hard to find cute girly clothes that are not covered in pink. Maybe if I have girl I will get over my dislike of pink a little more. Christian talks about the baby everyday. He always has to kiss my belly and tell the baby he loves it! yesterday he wanted to start practicing changing diapers, so he can help me when the baby comes. He got his puppy dogs out and laid them on the floor and then went and got two diapers and the wipes. He said the puppy dogs were stinky. It was so cute to watch him wipe his puppy dogs and lay them on the diapers. He also told me that he was going to help Mommy feed the baby a bottle. I think he is excited to be a big brother. He loves to help both Jason and I anytime we do anything around the house and I think he will be a big help taking care of his little brother or sister.

12 Weeks (3 Months)

I am 12 weeks pregnant today! I weighed in today at 135. I am hoping to only gain 1 one pound a week from here on out. When I was pregnant with Christian I gained 4 pounds in my first trimester and then I gained a pound every week except for one month I gained 8 pounds instead of 4. this was the month that put me over on what I wanted to gain and I ate really bad this month. Every morning for one week straight I woke up and ate a bowl of Special K cereal. I know you are probably thinking that this sounds pretty healthy. Well had I used regular or skim milk it would have been, but instead I poured heavy whipping cream all over my cereal. It was delicious! I used to eat cereal a lot this way when I was a kid and it never had any effect on me. Well, once i got pregnant it really made a difference. Needless to say after I had that weigh in at the doctor there was no more cereal with heavy whipping cream the rest of the time I was pregnant. I started off this time about 8 pounds heavier than I did with Christian so I would love to only gain a total of 30 pounds this time instead of 38 like I did with Christian. I am hoping in a couple of weeks I will be totally over the morning sickness. It took me to week 14 before I felt better with Christian. So far I haven't been craving anything specific all the time. Certain things will just hit me and I will want them. I am always like that though. I will say most of the time nothing sounds very good and I have to force myself to eat something, so I don't feel even more sick. When I was pregnant with Christian I wanted steak, broccoli, and milk all of the time! I ate sweets a lot also, which I normally never really ate before. I am curious to see what it will be this time. I didn't start these cravings until sometime into my second trimester. Travis used to always joke about how Christian was going to come out ripped with a six pack because of how much steak, broccoli, and milk I ate and drank. I remember there was one day when I drank an entire gallon of milk by myself in 24 hours and I ate 8 big heads of broccoli in 2 days. Jason would grill steak at least three times a week when I was pregnant with Christian. I hope whatever it is that I crave with this one it is somewhat healthy. Then I won't have to feel as guilty about my cravings. I think I am definitely going to be in maternity clothes sooner this time than I was with Christian. They say that that is normal with your second one. I was just barely having to start wearing maternity clothes when I 22 weeks pregnant with Christian. I will say a lot of my clothes are feeling tight and uncomfortable already. I need to start digging out my totes of maternity clothes so I can see what I need to get still. I really didn't buy very much when I was pregnant with Christian. I was able to wear a lot of my looser regular clothes through most of my pregnancy. It would be great if I was able to do that again, but I have a feeling that is not going to happen. I have bought a couple pairs of jeans from A Pea In A Pod Maternity online. They are really cute and I am looking forward to wearing them. I want to get some fun novelty maternity shirts also for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. One of our boutique Maternity shops in town is closing and they are having a big sale right now. I am going to try and head over there sometime soon and see what they have left. The clothes are usually really expensive, but they are SO comfortable. My Aunt got me a shirt from there when I was pregnant with Christian and I loved it and wore it all the time. I am hoping to get some more like that. I have decided to not take a picture every week just yet, since I'm not really showing. I think I will take a picture after each of my doctor's appointments and do it that way. Only two and a half more weeks until my next one. I think I have about six weeks until I find out what we are having. It definitely won't be any more than 7 weeks for sure. I can't wait! I am really looking forward to the gender reveal party. I hope Jason is a good sport about it. He hasn't said anything negative so far. I know one thing I am going to have to work with him on is trying to convince him to do maternity pictures with Christian and I. He was so against doing this when I was pregnant with Christian and I totally regret not just going by myself and getting them, but I felt stupid going and having pictures taken by myself. Now that Alisann is a photographer, I am definitely getting them taken weather he is with me or not. I know I can get some of Christian and I together that will be cute but I would love to have a belly shot with Jason's hands on my stomach or him kissing it. Those of you who know jason are probably laughing hysterically right now, because you know there is now way he will pose and do that. I am going to have to come up with some kind of bribe to get this to work out in my favor. I am thinking maybe more hunting time will do the trick. Even if he doesn't I am still getting maternity pictures with Christian and I.

Still getting sick

Just when I thought things were supposed to start getting better I feel like my sickness has gotten worse. I threw up Friday morning before work and felt aweful the rest of the day and night. I actually felt pretty good on Saturday, but then I woke up on Sunday and was puking again. I was thinking that the puking was from not eating soon enough when I woke up in the mornings, but then today when I ate breakfast and I still threw up a lot. I threw up everything I ate from breakfast. I will say I haven't been feeling quite as nauseated all the time, but I gave been puking a lot more and certain smells are really starting to bother me. Hopefully this will all clear up in a couple of weeks. I felt good by week 14 with christian! I was just hoping for a break to get over all the morning sickness early. As long as everything is okay I will suffer through just fine! I am so looking forward to feeling good and things sounding good to eat again! I can't wait till I get that burst of energy to start getting things done!

End Of First Trimester Doctors Appointment

Today I went to my first appointment with the actual Doctor. I weighed in at 134. I gained 1 pound since my last appointment. I was kind of surprised since haven't been eating a whole lot and feeling sick. I thought I might have lost some weight. No such luck. I was so incredibly nervous waiting in the waiting room and then waiting again for Dr. Leinenbach to come in after the nurse left. Luckily she didn't keep us waiting long. I thought I was going to pass out when she put the doppler on my stomach from all the anxiety. It didn't take her long and she found the heartbeat! I was nervous because I couldn't hear it real loud and she wasn't saying anything. She kept it on there for a long time. I didn't know if it was because she heard something she didn't like or because she was letting us all get a good listen. Then she put the doppler up and asked if we wanted to see the baby on the handheld ultrasound. Then I really got worried. I asked her if she thought she heard something wrong or thought there was something wrong and she said no that she just thought that it would be fun for Christian to get to see the baby on the screen. I am so glad she did this! It was so neat getting to see our little baby kicking and moving around. I was shocked how well we could see it on the handheld ultrasound. Jason picked out its head and we could see little arms and legs moving around. We even saw it kick off the side and move around. It was amazing seeing such a difference in the baby's growth in just 4 weeks since our last ultrasound. Dr. Leinenbach told me that the chances of something happening now are a lot less and that I could relax and stop worrying. I am so relieved to be past that appointment. This was a huge milestone for us! I am so ready to start planning and shopping. I go back to the doctor on July 26 at 9:20. Then I go back again in four weeks from that to find out the sex of the baby. That should be sometime around the 23rd of August! I am going to try and get my appointment on August 19th so then we can have our gender reveal party on the 20th. I just keep praying that everything continues to go good and that I can get over this morning sickness soon. I am ready to feel good and I am actually ready to start looking pregnant. I hated maternity clothes the last time and my bump was always in the way. I am actually looking forward to all of that this time! I'm sure I will change my mind by my third trimester. Whenever I got out of the Doctor's office the first person I called was Alisann. As soon she answered she said she could tell by my voice that it was all okay! She was so happy and relieved also. I then called my sister-in-law Jamie! I couldn't wait to tell her the news. She knows how worried I have been through all of this. After that I started my long list of texting everybody in our families to let them know the good news. I am so glad we can start telling people now. When I got home I called Becky, my mom and my Grandma Folz to tell them. They were all very relieved and happy. My mom of course cried. She is so ridiculous with stuff. She cries all the time and I hate it. I am not an emotional person and I get uncomfortable when other people are. I sent my Mother-in-law LeeAnn a text to tell her and she was super happy and excited to hear. It was really sweet, she called me this morning and left me a message wishing us well at our appointment. I am so thankful for everybody's thoughts and prayers through all of this. It's nice to have such wonderful friends and family. I know we aren't totally out of the clear you never are when you are pregnant, So keep up all the prayers everybody!

11 Weeks

I am 11 weeks Pregnant today! Today is the BIG day for the end of my first trimester doctor's appointment. I am so nervous for this. I keep having flash backs of the last time I went for this appointment. I don't know how I am going to stand waiting in the room for Dr. Leinenbach to come in and how I am going to stand her putting the doppler device on my stomach to find the heartbeat. I know it is totally normal to have to look for awhile to find the heartbeat. I just hope that she finds it right away if there is one. I just won't be able to stand it. Jason is coming with me and we are bringing Christian again. This might be a mistake, but it will be easier than running him all the way over to mom's and then having to go pick him up if the news is bad. Jason said he is really nervous also. That didn't make me feel any better. I am waiting to post my weight until I go to the doctor's office, so that it will be more accurate. I will post belly pictures later also if everything goes okay. This past week I have been feeling really sick off and on. My gag reflexes have gotten even worse. Out of nowhere I just start gagging really loud. It has been a challenge at work not to do this while I have clients. I have only told very few of my clients so most of them would not understand why out of no where I just start gagging . I try to cover it up by coughing but that doesn't help much. My boobs are still sore just not as bad as they were. I can not eat pizza. It gives me heartburn SO bad already. When I was pregnant with Christian the severe heartburn didn't start until later in my second trimester and it got really bad in my third trimester. I have ordered a few maternity clothes, but I haven't had to wear any of them yet. My regular clothes are starting to get uncomfortable. I have been having a lot of stretching type cramps in my lower abdomen and around my hips. I think I might be starting to show just a tiny bit, but I can't tell if I am just bloated or if it is the baby. I think I will be in maternity clothes a lot sooner than what I was Christian. They do say that you start to show sooner with your second one. I know Alisann was showing around 13 or 14 weeks with her last one and she has a longer torso than I do. That makes a difference. My torso is pretty short which means there is no room for the baby to go but out. I will get huge! I did with Christian anyway. I have mentioned before that there are three other people pregnant in Jason's family. So far we only no what one of them is having. It is to early for everyone else still. Brittany and Josh are having a boy! I thought that is what they would have. As far as the rest of us go we are all getting out of our first trimesters. So far things look good for everyone. We are just waiting on me for today. I am due last out of the four of us. Jason's brother's child is due on January 8, John and Jessica are due on January 17, and I am due on January 20! If I had to guess what I think the other's are having I would say Jason's brother will have a daughter and I am torn with John and Jessica. My gut is saying girl, but given how many boys there are in the Kincaid family logic tells me it will be a boy. They all should find out beginning to middle of August. If I make it that far we should find out around then also. I hate to post this and then get bad news today, but I am going to go ahead and do it anyways. If I had to guess what I think we are having I think it will be a boy. There are so many similarities in this pregnancy as there was with Christian. Especially with the nausea. I am also going with that Becky never felt sick with any of her girls and neither did my mom. My mom was sick a little bit with both of her boys and Becky was sick with Eli and Alisann was sick with Patrick and a little bit with James. That may mean nothing, but that is what is giving me my gut instinct. I will post back later today with the results from the appointment.
