6 Week Postpartum Doctor's Appointment

This morning I had my 6 Week postpartum doctor's appointment. Everything checked out great and I got the clear to resume all normal activities. I weighed in at 147 lbs. I was not happy about this at all. I have a lot to loose to be where I want to be. I need to loose 20-25 lbs. still. I really only need to loose 15 lbs. to get to where I was before I got pregnant with Jax, but I would like to loose more than that if I can. It looks like diet and exercise is my only choice at this point. Jason and I have been talking about how we need to not eat out so much and we need to both watch what we eat a little more. This will be hard for both of us, because we both have always been able to eat anything that we wanted and not gain an ounce. I think now that we both are getting older our metabolisms have changed and we need to eat accordingly. We both also need to get into a light exercise routine. I think we both would have more energy if we did. I am planning on doing sit-ups, push-ups, and leg lifts during the day and I would like to get into a routine of walking when the weather gets nice. Hopefully this will help get the extra weight off quicker. Dr. Leinenbach gave Jax a cute little burp cloth as a present. I go back to the doctor in July for my annual. She asked what we wanted to do about birth control and I told her that we would pull and pray since we are wanting to try again about a year from now. After having a miscarriage I would be grateful for any pregnancy that would come even if it wasn't ideal timing for us. Now I'm not saying I wouldn't be stressed and freaked out at the same time, but whatever happens I feel like would be God's will and would be just fine. I have enjoyed posting here every week with my pregnancy and I know will enjoy even more looking back and reading this some day. This will be my last post until we decide to start trying again or if we would happen to end up with a surprise!

5 Weeks Postpartum

I am 5 weeks postpartum today! I weighed in this morning at 142 lbs. I am trying to start eating healthier now. I have talked to several people that have told me the second time is harder to get the weight off. I am not one that can diet, so I have just been trying not eat fried foods and processed foods and more fresh and natural foods. I have also been trying not to salt my food as much, because I know I am carrying extra water weight. I go to the doctor Monday and as soon as I get the okay I am going to at least try and do sit-ups during the day and when the weather is nice I might try and walk or even run. I still feel like things are going much smoother this time around and much easier having two than I thought it would be. I do feel like sometimes I can't keep everything straight in my head and I tend to forget things more often. I need to just sit down and get my schedule organized along with some things around the house. I feel like I am just all over the place. We are having Jax baptised this weekend, so I think that has something to do with me feeling so scatter brained. Jason is also going to be traveling several different times in the next couple of months, so I have been trying to adjust my schedules for that. I feel like we constantly have things going on and we are always running everywhere and no time to take a break. I love during the week when we have our evenings to ourselves just the four of us. Jason has been so busy at work and so have I, that we both look forward to hanging out with our boys in the basement watching a cartoon and popping popcorn. It's the only time we get to relax and just hang out as a family. Our weekends are always so busy with place go that it seems like we are not home very much together then. Overall I think I am fully recovered now except for the weight gain and that feels good. My goals this next week are to finish my pregnancy photobook and get my storage room organized.

4 Weeks Postpartum

I am 4 weeks postpartum today and I pretty much feel like I am back to my normal self other than the extra 10 to 15 pounds that I want to loose. The first 20 - 25 pounds always just falls off and the last 10 to 15 are so hard to loose. I feel like i am never going to get back to my regular weight. I hate having all this flab and loose skin. It doesn't help that I am so pale right now also. I still have not made it to the tanning bed. I think this second child has been a lot harder on my body. It could be that I am older and going to be 30 this year also. I think I am going to have to exercise and diet a little which I hate. I am trying to not get too discouraged with it all, but every week that I don't loose weight the more discouraged I get. I refuse to break down and buy a size 8 it about killed me after I had Christian and had to wear a size 6. I have always been between 2 and 4 and usually a 2. I knew a 2 was unrealistic after having Christian, but I was hoping to be able to stay with a 4 and when I realized that that was never going to happen, I made my peace with a 6. I refuse to go up from there. My mom has never been bigger than a 6 and she had 7 kids. I am determined to get back to that and hopefully it will be sooner than later. I have to say that I am pretty proud of myself for staying motivated and getting things done around here. I finished Jaxson's birth montage and I got half way done with his hospital photo book. I have also been keeping all the blogs updated which is a huge relief. When I was pregnant this was one thing I was so worried about. Of course I would love to be able to have the time and motivation to do everything that I want with my pictures and organizing them. I knew that having a second child there was no way to keep up with everything. I decided that if there was only one thing that I could keep up with then it would have to be the blogging. I hope eventually sometime in my life I will do everything that I want to with my pictures and photobooks. One thing I do need to work on is video taping more.I take tons of pictures, but I always forget to video tape. My goals this week are going to be to finish Jax's photo book, put his newborn pictures in frames, mail out his birth announcements, and try to do a mini 1 month photo shoot myself of him on Saturday. I am sure that will not turn out well, but I am going to give it a try. I also need to get the boys their Valentine presents. Hopefully I can get everything finished that I want too!

3 Weeks Postpartum

I am 3 weeks postpartum today. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. I weighed in today at 142 lbs. I am hoping more of this weight starts coming off faster. I am getting a little impatient, but then again I haven't exactly been working to get it off either. I am at an in between stage on clothes right now and it is frustrating. I need to go shopping bad, but I hate to go buy a bunch of stuff and then it be too big in a couple of months. I probably should try and watch what I eat a little more. I do think I am still carrying a little water weight. The last few nights I have woke up sweating and not because I am hot. I think it is my body's way of getting rid of the extra fluids. I know I did this really bad after I had Christian. My boobs don't hurt at all any more, but they do still leak a tiny bit every once in a while. My bleeding is now just barely spotting, but I still wear a pad just to be safe for now. I finally had some margaritas this week and some wine and boy was that nice! I still haven't made it to the tanning bed yet and who know if I will. One thing that I am loving is not having any heart burn. It pretty much was completely gone by the time I came home from the hospital, but I have just been thinking about what a relief it is to not have to worry about that anymore. I really feel like everything is going so much smoother than I expected. I am getting things done around the house that I thought would be impossible after having a second one. I have done a decent job of staying caught up with my blogging and I was really worried about that. It took me awhile to get all the blogs caught up from the hospital, but I now have all of my blogs up to date and that is a relief. I am still behind on my photo books, but I have almost finished Jax's Montage that I want to show at his Baptism reception of his birth! My goal is to finish that and a photobook of Jax's birth in the next week. I am super excited to get Jax's newborn pictures in. I have empty frames all over my house just waiting to put his pictures in. My only complaint is just missing a full nights sleep. It has been so long since I have been able to sleep through the night comfortably without any interruptions. I feel pretty good when I get to take a nap in the afternoon, but when I miss my nap it really makes me extra tired. I can't complain too much because I am getting way more sleep than I thought would be possible with a newborn, so I am thankful for that! I am really pleased with how great everything has been so far. I think Jason and I both are having a much easier time having a second child than we thought. If things keep going this well we will probably start trying for our third child next winter and definitely by next spring. One thing I want to try and work on is finding more time to spend one on one with Christian. I try to make the most of the time we have during the day when Jax is content or asleep, but I think I could do better. I am pretty much back to working my full schedule at work and it is going great so far. I really love my job and I love getting to see and talk to all my clients. I feel so much better when I am there now that I am not pregnant. I didn't realize how hard working like that was on me until now. If I could pick when we would have our third child I would pick sometime between February and April of 2013. I think any of those months would be a nice time to have a baby. It was just so hard to be SO pregnant and SO busy with the holidays that I would like to try and avoid that again if possible. Of course we will take another bundle of joy anytime, but if I had my choice I would pick late winter to early spring. It's crazy that I can even think about a third when I just had Jax, but we are just loving every minute with him so much. I wish he could stay this way for awhile. They just grow so fast right now! My goals this week are to hopefully be totally finished bleeding and leaking, maybe get to the tanning bed, and try and organize a few things around the house. I would also love to loose about 5 lbs., but that I am sure will not happen!
